KYC Documents for Sending Money Abroad

Here is the list of KYC Documents required for sending money abroad from India for various purposes allowed under the Liberalized Remittance Scheme(LRS) of RBI.

University/ College Fee Payment

1. Indian Passport Copy of Student
2. Purpose proof (University Letter/Prospectus)
3. ID proof of the sender (Aadhar/Driving Licence/Voters ID/Passport)
4. PAN Card of the sender

*The funds must be transferred from the student's or his/her parent’s account

Sending Money to an Immediate Family Member (Family Maintenance)

1. Indian Passport/ Voters ID/ Aadhar Card or any other Govt. Issued Photo ID Card of the sender
2. PAN Card Copy of the sender
3. Beneficiary Passport Copy
4. Relationship Proof (Passport copies of sender & beneficiary would suffice)
5. Latest Bank Statement (if required, depends on the processing bank)

Gift Remittance to a Person Abroad

1. Indian Passport/ Voters ID/ Aadhar Card or any other Govt. Issued Photo ID Card of the sender
2. PAN Card Copy of the sender
3. Beneficiary Passport Copy
4. Latest Bank Statement (if required, depends on the processing bank)

Living Expenses of Student Abroad

1. Indian Passport/ Voters ID/ Aadhar Card or any other Govt. Issued Photo ID Card of the sender
2. PAN Card Copy of the sender
3. Beneficiary Passport Copy
4. Latest Bank Statement (if required, depends on the processing bank)

To GIC/ Blocked Account of Student

1. Indian Passport Copy of Student
2. Pan Card of the student
3. University acceptance letter
4. GIC/ Blocked Account Opening Letter

*For GIC account, first transaction should be made from the student's account. Further transactions parents can also do.

Visa/ Emigration/ Consultancy Fee

1. Indian Passport of the remitter
2. Purpose proof (Letter from Consulate mentioning Amount)
3. PAN Card

Remittance by Tour Operator

1. Invoice copy of the Hotel Booking or Travel arrangement
2. Wire Transfer request Letter in Companies Letter Head
3. Government-issued valid licence copy of sending company
4. Incorporation Certificate of the Company
5. PAN Card of the Company

International Tour & Related Payments

1. Indian Passport of the remitter
2. Invoice copy of the Hotel Booking or Travel arrangement
3. PAN Card

Global Conference/ Training Participation Fee

1. Indian Passport
2. Invitation letter or invoice from overseas
3. PAN Card

Medical Treatment Abroad

1. Indian Passport
2. Visa Copy or Confirmed Air Ticket Copy
3. PAN Card
4. Purpose proof (Letter from Overseas Hospital)
