• Intermediary Bank Charge - Intermediary banks in the SWIFT network might deduct a charge. You can cover this charge upfront by opting for the ‘OUR’ option when making the wire transfer. (It usually comes in the range of 1500- 2500 INR)
• Beneficiary Bank Charge - Sometimes the beneficiary bank in USA might deduct a charge after the fund is credited. It depends on the beneficiary bank, check with the beneficiary’s bank to find out the exact amount.
• GST - Depends on the amount you are transferring, usually quite minimal (minimum Rs 45 per transaction)
• 5% TCS may be applicable on your transfer if you have done forex transactions worth more than 7 Lakh INR in the financial year. Tax applies to amount exceeding 7 lakhs only. If you are an Indian Resident, you can transfer a maximum of USD 2,50,000 per financial year to the US from your Savings Account.

If you are a Non-Resident Indian (NRI), then the maximum amount of money you can send to US depends on the type of your bank account.

If the processing bank in India gets the NEFT credit of the funds before 2 pm, wire transfer to the USA will be initiated on the same day. You will get the SWIFT copy of the transfer on the same day. The beneficiary will get the funds in US Bank account within the next 48 working hours. Please note that all Saturdays, Sundays and any US holidays will be international wire transfer holidays and fund transfers will be delayed. For example, a wire transfer initiated on Friday could take up to 4 days including Saturday and Sunday holidays.
