Tatkal Application is a fast-track scheme for fast issue or re-issue of passport. When applying for a passport under this scheme, a new one is issued within a week. It allows applicants to book an appointment at their convenience on any date of choice from among the first five working days of the selected Passport Seva Kendra. Police verification takes place only after the passport is issued (Post Verification), thus avoiding delays. The status of your application will be intimated to you via SMS on the provided phone number and you\u2019d be able to keep track of the Passport process. There is no difference in the passport obtained by Tatkal method and Normal method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Documents required for Tatkal Passport Application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Just four documents are required to process your Tatkal Passport Application<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Aadhar card<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Voters ID – Electors Photo Identity Card<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. PAN Card<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Affidavit of no criminal case which includes family details and citizenship<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Affidavit of no criminal case can be easily obtained. This document basically declares the names of your parents and that you are a citizen of India with no Criminal case pending in courts under your name or criminal history in the past 5 years.     How to apply for Tatkal Passport Online?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    It\u2019s really simple, go to the Passport India Website<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Create your account<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Fill the necessary forms carefully<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Upload Scanned copies of the necessary documents<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Pay the fee online
      Choose the Tatkal<\/strong> Application <\/strong> You\u2019d need to pay an extra Rs 2000 compared to Normal Application<\/strong>, totalling to Rs 3500.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. After payment is completed, choose an appointment with your nearest Passport Seva Kendra from a list of available dates according to your convenience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Print out the receipt of the appointment, to be produced at the Passport Seva Kendra.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
